Special Needs Network is an organization, which espouses the needs of children with disability in Namibia/Windhoek in terms of work that supports the society. Fields of operation are the sensitisation of the society for the needs and rights of children with disability, trainings of professionals in the area of curative education for children in their domestic surroundings, networking with other organizations.
Field of work: work with persons with disability, education and social affairs
Qualification: experience in the area of curative education, ergotherapy, Motopädie, early learning initiatives for children with disability, independence, intercultural sensibility, command of English advantageous
Function of volunteers: assistance for the mobile work and for the visits of the families, communication with and instruction for the families about the possibilities of support for their child/children, assistance in planning small seminars for the guidance and direction for the parents and families, support in the administrative work (management of files), mediation of basic knowledge of curative education and early learning initiatives for children with disability through pedagogical guided games
